Diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Loretta Anastos was encouraged by her oncologist to “go for the cure” and was referred to David Avigan, M.D. After undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and both autologous and allogenic stem cell transplants, that is exactly what Dr. Avigan did—he cured her. Thankful for Avigan and the BIDMC staff members that cared for her, Loretta Anastos and her husband Ernest are pleased to support Dr. Avigan’s life-saving research through their estate with the hope that others will be cured as well.
